Writing a Will can be a daunting task. Contemplating what happens when you die is not something that is easy to think or talk about. With this in mind, it is important to choose a will writer that you can trust to fully understand your wishes and to advise you on any potential implications that you may not have considered.
Expression Wills is a modern thinking law firm with traditional values at the heart of everything we do. Our hope is to break out of the mould when it comes to the usual stereotypes often associated with the will writing industry and to demonstrate that preparing for “worst case scenarios” can in fact be an empowering and uplifting task. By combining our passion for technology and estate planning, we aim to simplify the will writing process, to provide a simple accessible for everyone of all ages.
Our business is based on five fundamental principles that we believe are important when choosing a reliable will writer:
We make the will writing process straightforward by providing a simple, accessible service in plain English. When taking your instructions for your Will, we will explain each element to you and discuss how any more complex estate planning may benefit you, providing examples and case studies to demonstrate how these work. A Will is a legal document and must comply with the requirements set out by law, therefore there are occasions when some legal terms cannot be avoided, however where possible we will always aim to draft your documents using terms that are easy to understand. It is important that you understand the contents of your Will and what each clause means and we are always available to answer any questions that you have.
We offer appointments at a time that suits you remotely via Zoom or similar platforms. In light of the latest lockdown and in the interest of everyone’s safety, we unfortunately cannot meet with you face to face. However, the benefit of this means that we are not restricted to geographic locations and can meet with you online regardless of where you are based. We are also in a position to offer greater flexibility in terms of availability for an appointment. We understand that some of you may be key workers with varying shift patterns or with current school closures you may be balancing childcare commitments. With this in mind, with sufficient notice we are able to accommodate appointments outside of the standard 9-5 office hours to work around your schedule.
- Transparent pricing
Our business is based upon fair and transparent fixed fee pricing. Our fees are not published on our website as our preference is to speak to you first to fully understand your objectives. This allows us to provide you with a comprehensive quote tailored to your personal requirements.
- Knowledge and expertise
Unlike some law firms, we only provide will and estate planning services. We think that makes us experts in what we do. In addition to professional training and qualifications through the Society of Will Writers (SWW) and The Society of Trust and Estate Planners (STEP) we are committed to Continuous Professional Development on a range of relevant subjects to be able to provide our clients with bespoke advice tailored to their individual needs.
Our estate planners are members of both the Society of Will Writers (SWW) and The Society of Trust and Estate Planners (STEP). As members of these organisations we operate under strict codes of conduct to afford our clients the reassurance that we operate with honesty and integrity.
